1st Annual Classic Meets Modern Car Show

batmobileBy Jerry “Docair” Malkes

Just came home with my sister, Hazel, and the Bat Theme from that 60’s TV show, Batman, still ringing in my ears. September 22 was the 1st Annual Classic Meets Modern Car Show at the Autoseum Automotive Teaching Museum in Mineola, NY.

This was a salute to our veterans benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. The event was held at the Autoseum and Automotive Teaching Museum in Mineola, NY. The event was sponsored by the Career Institute of Health and Technology and the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America.

I first spied the Drag-Ula from the Munster TV show. That is a beautiful coffin on wheels. Then I saw Vin Diesel’s Triple X, Speed Racer, Adam West’s Batmobile, James Bond’s Car from Goldfinger, Starsky and Hutch, Herbie the Love Bug, etc.

In the back they had a limousine that was about 5 car lengths and so much more. The cars from various clubs lined the front of the Autoseum. Dash plaques and trophies were awarded. Just a beautiful nostalgic day.
